FAQs

Where does Therapy take place?

Evaluations and/or therapy will take place within your home or at an agreed upon location (i.e., library, playground).

How long is an evaluation and therapy session?

An evaluation can take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours dependent on the child. Sessions are typically 30 to 45 minutes, also dependent on the child and their needs.

What does an Evaluation look like?

Little Blooms Pediatric Speech and Feeding Therapy, PLLC provides a comprehensive evaluation using a variety of standardized and non-standardized methods. The evaluation will target your child's area(s) of concern(s). A full case history will be obtained, followed by observation, interaction, and formal/informal assessment of skills.

What ages do you work with?

Feeding therapy at Little Blooms is appropriate for any child who has already started solid food introduction (about 6 months of age and older). Little Blooms currently does not address breastfeeding or bottle feeding.

Speech and language therapy can begin at any age! Little Blooms accepts clients up to 10 years of age. Please reach out with any questions regarding these age ranges as there may be exceptions dependent on the child's needs.

DO you offer parent coaching?

Yes! Parent/caregiver involvement is the key to success in therapy. During or at the end of therapy sessions, I discuss what and why I am using certain strategies to target specific skills. I may request that parents/caregivers participate in their child's session, which results in better carryover as you become more confident in helping your child with their new skills. Private parent/caregiver coaching without your child present is also offered if desired.

How does billing work?

Little Blooms Pediatric Speech and Feeding Therapy, PLLC is private pay only. Payment is collected on the day of service. Please reach out for a listing of fees per service.

Currently, Little Blooms does not accept insurance at this time. However, a Superbill can be provided upon request. You may submit this Superbill to your insurance company. Contact your insurance company prior to the initiation of services to verify out-of-network reimbursement. Please note, Little Blooms is unable to interact directly with your insurance company.

A Superbill is essentially a detailed receipt of the services provided that are recognized by insurance companies. Superbills provide all the information an insurance company needs to create a healthcare claim. For more information regarding Superbills, click on this link
